1000 Days Around the World
The exhibition is about Fredrika, a completely ordinary girl with sometimes unusual ideas. This is the story of how a simple desire to find out what's on the other side grew into a 1,042-day journey around an entire planet – and how I came home with a smile, a changed outlook on life and a story that was bigger than all the miles I walked.

A thirst for adventure, a joy of discovery and the realization that life can be so much more than what is offered. The rewards and views are wonderful. Until you stand on top of the wrong volcano when the storm rolls in.

The bike, the body and the silence. Roads that open up endless landscapes. Mile after mile where thoughts come and go at their own pace. The adventure becomes everyday life and every day an adventure.

Can you, at any cost, roll into unknown landscapes, step over the threshold and straight into the lives of strangers? Where is the line? And which are really the most dangerous? Merciless mountain ranges and endless sandy deserts, or the people who wait in them.

Fredrika pedaled for the rights of girls and women around the world. The fundraising was based on the distance she traveled and grew into something no one could have predicted. But what do you actually do when the miles run out?
On March 7th, you have the opportunity to meet Fredrika Ek.

WHAT ÄVENTYRS IS AND STANDS FOR
About Äventyrs – The Adventure Museum
Äventyrs – The Adventure Museum in Stockholm was created to inspire people to grow – both as individuals and as a society. For us, adventure is more than extreme expeditions and dramatic landscapes. It is about courage, curiosity, and daring to dream in a world shaped by stress, pressure, and a lack of direction.
We believe many of society’s challenges stem from this very issue: lost dreams. When life is reduced to performance and routine, we lose touch with what makes us feel truly alive. Yet human nature is rooted in exploration, in pushing boundaries, and in turning the impossible into reality.
At Äventyrs, people, nature, and stories from around the world come together. Through photography, film, and documentation, we aim to reignite that inner drive—encouraging reflection, connection, and responsibility for ourselves and the planet. A museum that not only shows what humanity has done, but reminds us of what we are still capable of becoming.
